History

Sjørup Group A/S was founded in 1963 by Jens and Ragnhild Lauridsen under the name Sjørup Traktor. Its main business was the service, repair and maintenance of tractors and other machinery for the region’s farmers.

Today, the company focuses exclusively on the professional market in their role as equipment suppliers, service technicians, workshop owners or spare parts distributors.

Change of generations

In time the son, Ole Lauridsen, took over the firm and with this change of generations, the firm developed into a global enterprise with a large network of business connections – with branches both in Denmark and abroad.

A pioneer of recycling

As demand for good used parts increased and the agricultural sector gradually evolved, Sjørup Traktor began to buy a number of used machines and to sell functioning used parts to equipment suppliers all over Denmark.

Thus Sjørup Traktor became a pioneer in the recycling of used parts for machines – without the owner's awareness that the company was in fact ahead of its time. Recycling has since become a very important business area, in which the company have a strong hold.

Focus on export

With the excellent contacts that were simultaneously formed in other countries, the export of used machinery enjoyed great success and as a consequence, DANBRUGT A/S was established in 1990 as part of the Sjørup Traktor A/S group.

A global company

Over the years, Sjørup Group has constantly expanded its export activities and built up its experience in international trade. The company exports to the entire world – with countries as far apart as Thailand in the east and Bolivia in the west, Greenland in the north and Australia in the south.

Today’s company

Sjørup Traktor A/S was renamed Sjørup Group A/S in 2017 . Sjørup Group A/S has the following main business areas: Sjørup New Spare Parts, Sjørup Second-hand Parts and Sjørup Tractor (export of machinery).

The division enabled a focus to be kept on each product area, which is staffed with specialists in each field. Sjørup Group A/S now caters exclusively to the professional market as equipment suppliers, installation engineers, workshop owners or spare parts distributors.

Today the company employs 40 people in Denmark (see list of employees) in the areas of sales of new and used spare parts, administration, purchasing, import and export of used agricultural machinery and machine parts, workshop/repairs and preparation as well as recycling, cataloguing and quality control.
